There is something different about a winter night in northern New England.
After a fresh snowfall, the landscape reflects enough moonlight that the woods almost seem to glow. Every sound carries farther than it should. The air is still. Standing among the trees, it feels as though the whole world has slowed down.
This painting was created from many winter nights spent walking with Megan in Vermont. We had a special trail we would walk that lead us down to a pond hidden in the woods. I wanted it to feel somewhere between memory and landscape to capture what it feels like to stand beneath a full moon while fresh snow reflects the light back through the forest.
Those moments have always given me perspective. It’s just so expansive, and to be in it in that moment is inspiring.
They remind me how little we need sometimes. A quiet night. A path through the trees. Time to simply be present.
Collector Information
Each print is produced as part of a fixed, limited edition of 100 and is individually signed and numbered by the artist. Once an edition is fully collected, it is permanently closed and not reproduced.
Printed on Arches Aquarelle Rag 310 — a 100% cotton archival paper produced by Arches, one of France's historic papermakers with a tradition dating back more than 500 years. The print is created using Canon Lucia archival pigment inks rated for more than 100 years of display life. The surface has a soft, matte texture with a natural warmth that closely reflects the character of the original watercolor.
Each print is prepared in the studio and presented professionally matted in white with a rigid backing, then enclosed in protective, weather-resistant packaging for shipment. Each print is professionally matted to fit a standard 20” × 24” frame.
A certificate of authenticity accompanies every piece, verifying its place within the edition and including a unique identifying number recorded by the artist.
