This is the view toward Camel's Hump from Vermont's Long Trail.
It's also where I proposed to my wife, Megan.
Years later we hiked the trail together again, and she took the photograph that became the reference for this painting. The goldenrod was in full bloom, catching the afternoon light against the deep greens of the mountains. It was one of those days you wish you could hold onto.
As I painted, I realized the landscape was giving me more than a memory. Looking through the flowers toward the mountains reminded me how freeing it is to step outside the noise of everyday life. Places like this have a way of restoring perspective. They remind us that we're part of something much larger than ourselves.
That feeling is what I hoped to capture.
I hope this painting gives you a moment to pause, breathe, and find a little of that same perspective.
Each print is produced as part of a fixed, limited edition of 100 and is individually signed and numbered by the artist. Once an edition is fully collected, it is permanently closed and not reproduced.
Printed on Arches Aquarelle Rag 310 - a 100% cotton archival paper produced by Arches, one of France's historic papermakers with a tradition dating back more than 500 years. The print is created using Canon Lucia archival pigment inks rated for more than 100 years of display life. The surface has a soft, matte texture with a natural warmth that closely reflects the character of the original watercolor.
