Limited Edition Print
11” x 14”
Available - Limited Edition
This painting was a gift for my brother.
The original is oil — one of the few I've made public over the years, and one I'm glad exists. It was referenced from a photograph taken by my sister-in-law Erica McPhee of a boat awaiting a retrofit at Samples Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. That boat has since been fully restored and is back on the Maine coast where it belongs.
There's something particular about painting a subject people already know — a real boat, a real place, a harbor that means something to the people who grew up around it. You have to honor what's already there while still making it a painting. I think this one found that balance.
I love the character that came through in the hull, the gentle way the wind moves the water, the familiar lines of Boothbay Harbor in the background. I was proud to give the original to my brother. I hope this print brings something of that same feeling into your space.
Print details: 11" × 14" — limited edition of 100, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. Once the edition closes it is permanently retired.
