Into the Wind | Open Edition Fine Art Print
Megan and I were having lunch at Lobsterman's Wharf in East Boothbay, Maine, when I noticed this boat resting quietly on its mooring. Its bow was pointed directly into the wind, as boats naturally do.
That image stayed with me because it reminded me of something I've heard throughout my life from my parents, coaches, mentors, and good friends who seemed to appear when I needed them most: when adversity comes, don't turn away from it. Face it. The way forward is through.
That's what this boat came to represent for me.
I've always felt that East Boothbay is home, and its working waterfront continues to inspire much of my artwork. But this painting became about something more than a place. It became a reminder that strength isn't always loud. Sometimes it's simply the quiet confidence to keep your bow pointed into the wind.
I hope it brings that same reminder into your home.
