This painting grew out of a lifetime on the water — the ropes, the cleats, the weathered wood of working boats that have seen real use. These are not decorative details. They are the language of people who depend on the sea.

Each original painting is developed through a deliberate process that emphasizes surface, material, and longevity. Painted using professional-grade watercolor pigments on prepared canvas — multiple layers of gesso and watercolor ground, sanded between applications. Sealed with archival spray varnish.
