Growing up around boats, I learned early on the importance of a good knot and a strong line. You had to be able to trust what you tied, especially when the weather changed or the water got rough.
I've always liked the expression "hold fast." It's something you hear around the waterfront, but I think it means a lot more than keeping a boat secure.
We all have things we hold onto. Family, friendships, memories, and the people and places that keep us grounded when life gets a little unsettled.
That's what this painting means to me. It's about knowing what matters, trusting the connections we've made, and holding onto them through whatever comes our way.
I hope Hold Fast reminds you of the people and places that have helped keep you steady along the way.
Hold Fast is available as a 12” × 12” open-edition fine art print.
Each print is produced on professional fine-art paper, selected to reproduce the colors and character of the original watercolor.
Open-edition prints are unsigned and unnumbered, with no limit on the number produced. Each print is made to order and shipped directly to you by our professional printing partner.
Prints are supplied unframed, allowing you to choose a presentation that best suits your home.
Room images are provided to help visualize how the artwork may look when framed and displayed in your home.
