"Green Island" — Limited Edition Print | Maine Sunset Watercolor | East Boothbay Ocean Point Coastal Art

$125.00

Available – Limited Edition of 100 | 11” x 14” Prints

Green Island sits just outside Grimes Cove at the southern end of Ocean Point in East Boothbay, Maine. It's a place I've returned to throughout my life. People swim from the small beach to the float anchored in the cove, stretch out on the warm granite, and watch the light change across the water. An osprey has nested on the island for as long as I can remember.

Places like this have a way of becoming part of who we are.

When I painted Green Island, I wasn't trying to recreate exactly what I saw. I wanted to capture what the place feels like. The violet shadows, the warm yellow light on the horizon, and the quiet lobster boat resting at its mooring all work together to create the feeling of a Maine morning before the day fully begins.

Whenever life feels especially busy, I find myself returning to this painting. Looking at it brings me back to Ocean Point—the cool morning air, the still water, and the sense that, for a little while, nothing else needs my attention.

That's what I hope this painting offers the people who live with it.
