I painted this during COVID. I had already been sick — it took months to fully recover. I was separated from my family for a year and a half. I was managing construction on a military base fourteen, fifteen hours a day and coming back to an apartment alone at night.
I painted because I needed somewhere to put it all.
This came out of that time. A small sailboat at rest in still water. A yellow mast. Quiet. No drama, no story — just a moment of simple beauty and the feeling that the water could hold you if you let it.
That's what I needed. I think a lot of people needed the same thing right then.
The painting grew out of going straight for what mattered. I've tried to do that ever since.
Print details: 12" × 18" — limited edition of 100, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. Once the edition closes it is permanently retired.
Paper & printing: Canson Infinity Arches Aquarelle Rag 310 — 100% cotton archival paper, Canon Lucia archival pigment inks rated for 100+ years of display life.
Presentation: Arrives matted in 4-ply acid-free white mat, sized to fit a standard 16×22" frame — available at any framing supplier. No custom framing required.
