It was raining. Most people stayed home. We went anyway.
Megan photographed this moment on Indialantic Beach, just down the road from where we live — the sky violet and heavy, the storm winding down, the beach entirely ours. The water was that deep emerald green it only gets under a troubled sky.
Some of the best moments happen when everyone else turns back.
This is a large painting — 24" × 48" — built to fill a wall and hold it. The horizontal scale is the point. Standing in front of it you get the full sweep of the Florida coast, the weight of that sky, the movement of the water. It doesn't let you look away.

Medium & materials: Watercolor on prepared canvas — multiple layers of gesso and watercolor ground, sanded between applications. Sealed with archival spray varnish.
Presentation: Finished in a solid maple floating frame, ready to install. Arrives carefully packaged with certificate of authenticity.
